Adoption and rehoming at Rio Negro Rescue is about giving both dogs and families a safe, steady start together. We focus on Great Danes and large-breed mixes, guiding you from the first enquiry to the first night at home so you are never left guessing. Before any dog is listed, we arrange vet checks, vaccines, and, when possible, spay or neuter. We also work on crate habits, basic manners, and confidence, so your new companion arrives with a foundation already in place.

Our goal is simple: the right dog in the right home, for life. We talk with you about space, routine, children, and other pets, then suggest dogs whose energy and temperament fit your household. For some families, that may mean adopting a calm older Dane; for others, a playful mix like Duke or a herding dog we have pulled from a shelter.

When a match is made, we provide clear next steps, honest behavior notes, and ongoing support after adoption.
